Customer Overview Ascension Health is the nation's largest nonprofit health system, serving patients through a network of hospitals and related health facilities providing acute care services, long-term care, community health services, psychiatric, rehabilitation and residential care.
 
Needs Ascension Health’s Pension department needed a document imaging and workflow application to process employee Pension membership forms, applications, and correspondence.
 
Solution QFlow implemented its Q-ScanPlus document imaging application. Q-ScanPlus provides distributed scanning and indexing of incoming documents. It includes easy fill-in-the-blanks query and viewing capabilities. Its workflow capabilities route imaged documents to work queues that are shared by processors. Users can add e-mail messages and electronic files to member files directly from their desktops. The application was implemented in February 2003.

Benefits Pension forms are stored electronically which reduces the floor space requirements for file cabinets. Processors are more productive working items in work queues rather than handling paper folders. Employee files can be located more quickly. Managers view work queues to monitor the number of items waiting to be processed.
 
Services Provided QFlow consultants customized and installed the Q-ScanPlus application. With a follow-on project, QFlow implemented a web-based query application that allows administrators in remote locations to view employee files. QFlow also implemented web-based imaging applications for the Payroll and Accounting departments. QFlow provides system maintenance and technical support services.
